Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist at AcuSport Corporation you will be responsible for performing tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records and accurately processing a multi-state in-house payroll, including keeping up to date on changes in wage and tax laws, corresponding federal, state and local tax agencies.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
This position performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities, including but not limited to:
Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards.
Computing wage and overtime payments,
Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards,
Entering new hires into the HRIS system and terminating separated employees,
Posting changes in payroll and tax status,
Balancing and controlling earnings and deduction totals,
Determining and correcting out of balance conditions,
Preparing and filing tax and voluntary deduction reports,
Researching and preparing reports for management or other agencies,
Processing garnishments,
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Solid and practical experience with multi-state payroll and payroll tax law
Solid background in accounting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Experience with HRIS, including timekeeping and payroll software
Experience with Microsoft office products, with intermediate skill in Excel.
Strong problem solving skills
Customer service focused
Clear written and verbal communication skills

Education and/or
Experience:
3-5 years experience with multi state payroll
Associates degree or related training or combination of education and experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
